Separate HS code for technical items used in construction of machinery, so that concessional import duty can be requested & applied– Separate HS code have been generated by DHI and proposal sent to Department of commerce , Recommendations for reduced duty are under consideration with Revenue Secretary
Representation to reverse customs duty reductions under PTA/FTA – No progress on request. However, in fresh FTAs plastics machinery is not included in reduced customs duty cate gory
Ban on used machinery imports – Presently under review with Tariff Commission
Policy, physical and financial measures for support to PMMAI – Two Projects under common facility center (CFC) are under consideration
PMMAI has joined Capital Goods Sector Skill Council (CGSC) and participating in preparation of National occupational standards (NOS) content. Core Skills for PMMAI – Feed back provided to DHI, need to follow up with DHI & FICCI
Set up TUF Scheme – DHI shall provide draft scheme soon. We have requested subsidized interest for technology upgradation similar to Textile machinery TUF scheme.
Include Plastics processing machinery in Focus product scheme and addition of countries for focus market scheme
Representation to Government to provide level playing field for imported and indigenous machinery in respect of interest subvention currently allowed. ( Reference RBI circular)
Hold joint Seminars for the benefit of member companies to share information on best practices adopted for improving quality, productivity etc
Trade Show delegation & study tours
Organize B2B Meetings at select industry locations where PMMAI members will get opportunity to interact with prospective customers. To begin with locations like Kolkata and later on hold meetings in export territories
